摘要
以英、汉语本族语语料为参照,探讨了不同类型中国英语学习者近义词ABLE和CAPABLE的使用特征。研究发现:1.本族语近义词在类联接和语义韵特征上有明显区分;学习者近义词在上述特征的常见用法上与本族语者类似,但在部分用法上存在差异;不同类型学习者的近义词使用也存在异同,表现为不同程度的语法和语义不当现象。2.母语迁移是影响学习者近义词使用特征的重要因素之一,但不同类型学习者受其影响的情况存在差异。这些发现一方面证明了语料库方法在同义词辨析上的有效作用,另一方面也为二语教学提供了参考。
This study explores the collocational behavior of the near synonyms ABLE and CAPABLE through a corpus-based contrastive analysis among Chinese Learners’English(CLE),native English and native Chinese.The data show that i)near synonyms differ in their colligation and sematic prosody in native English,and CLE displays similarities with native English in some common usages,but it also exhibits some deviation in certain dimensions with different types of learners behaving differently in terms of grammar and meaning;ii)L1 transfer is one of the factors influencing CLE,and different types of Chinese learners are influenced in varying aspects.The results not only prove the efficiency of corpus-based analysis in distinguishing near synonyms,but also provide new clues for second language teaching.
