Two Letters to Kurt Goldstein

In An Essay on Man,Ernst Cassirer said that human are animals of symbol. It is important that this argument is not originated from some imaginary meditation but based on absorbing the latest achievements of sciences and humanities in that time. In the two letters to Kurt Goldstein,who was a famous psychologist and psychiatrist,exactly based on Goldstein’s research,Cassirer discussed the connection and difference between sensory consciousness and symbolic consciousness which is foundational for the construction of the philosophy of symbolic forms of his own.
