五四运动中蔡大愚在成都的爱国活动及其下落

Cai Dayu’s Patriotic Activities in Chengdu during the May 4th Movement and His Whereabouts

1917年冬季,甘肃法政专门学校校长,近代教育家、思想家、民主革命家蔡大愚组织发动甘肃护法运动失败。1918年,他返回成都,自此脱离了教育界,成为职业革命家。五四运动中,他领导组织了四川的国民反帝爱国活动。本文根据民国《蓉档》、报刊资料和访问所得,对蔡大愚返回成都后与孙中山的联系,他出任四川爱国会会长、四川国民大会主席与组织反帝爱国运动的史实,他再度出川担任孙中山广州军政府谘议的情况,及他在北伐期间的活动踪迹与下落,进行了深入探究。

In the winter of 1917,Cai Dayu,known as the principal of Gansu Politics and Law School,a modern educator,thinker and democratic revolutionary,failed in organizing and launching the Constitutional Protection Movement in Gansu Province.Returning Chengdu in the following year,he left education to become a professional revolutionary.During the May 4th Movement,he led and organized anti-imperialist patriotic activities in Sichuan Province.By researching the Archives of Sichuan Province and newspapers of the Republic of China and interviews,this paper makes an in-depth investigation into Cai Dayu’s contact with Sun Yat-sen after his return to Chengdu,his appointment as Chairman of Sichuan Patriotic Association,Chairman of Sichuan National Assembly,Consultant of Sun Yat-sen’s military government in Guangzhou,his other activities and whereabouts during the Northern Expedition.
