时空还原观在旅游翻译教学中的应用——以岳麓山风景区景点介绍英译为例

Study of Applying “the Time-and-space-reduction View” in Tourism Translation Teaching: Taking the Yuelu Mountain Scenic Resort as an Example

物质和事件与其产生的时间和空间紧密相连,不可割离,同时,时间具有一维性,这就造成了许多原本明朗的事实在时间的流逝中逐渐为时空的迷雾遮蔽,于当今的译者来说难以准确理解与传译。旅游景点中的历史名胜往往积淀着悠久的历史和文化,其介绍文本也因此多与史实关联,译者对此应予以重视。本文以岳麓山风景区景点介绍及其英译为例,说明了在旅游翻译教学中对此类文本的翻译应采取时空还原翻译观,即将理解置于文字所表述内容的历史时空中去,以准确理解和翻译文字背后的本原,保证理解与阐释的有效性,避免误译产生。

Since things and matters are closely imbedded in their Time and Space,and time has its one-dimension nature,many facts and truths have gradually become covered with the time going,leaving difficulties for translators to understand and render.The introductions of historic resorts which have their own historic and cultural identity should have more connections with historic facts.To this,the translator should pay much attention and adopt“the Time-and-space-reduction View”,the view of returning to the original time and space,to assure an accurate understanding and rendering of the historic facts.The translation of the Yuelu Mountain scenic resort introduction is taken as an example to explain how and why such a view should be adopted to avoid mistakes in teaching the translation of such type of text.
