The course of "Computer Application Foundation" is a compulsory learning field of vocational core competence for first year students in higher vocational colleges. Taking the content of "talking with charts in Excel" as an example, this paper describes the application of different teaching methods in this course from curriculum orientation, learning situation analysis, teaching method analysis to students’ task decomposition before, during and after class.
