Parental Autonomy Support and Child Adjustment from the Perspective of Self-determination Theory

父母自主支持是指父母培育儿童内在动机资源和行为自我决定感的教养方式。新近研究发 现,父母自主支持正向影响儿童适应性:培育安全型依恋和适应性情绪调节;促进诚实行为、亲社会行为和 同伴关系质量;提升儿童认知技能 执行功能。未来研究需要检验多种来源的自主支持效应,重视父亲 自主支持的独特影响,并考察中国本土文化变量对自主支持效应的调节作用。

Parental autonomy support means to cultivate children*s intrinsic motivation and self-determined behavior.Recent studies have found that parental autonomy support positively influences child adjustment,such as fostering secure attachment and adaptive emotion regulation,promoting peer relationship quality,pro-social behavior and honest behavior,as well as enhancing executive function.Future studies should examine the effects of various sources of autonomy support,and the unique influence of paternal autonomy support.Moreover,future studies should explore the moderating role of Chinese local culture variables(e.g.,collectivism,vertical and horizontal orientation)on the effects of parental autonomy support.
