This paper analyzes the user's demand for the compilation and research of university history,showing the characteristics of value,closeness,timeliness and diversification.Based on the characteristics of users'needs,this paper puts forward a new idea in compilation and researchof university history:insist on content as king,pay attention to form innovation,enhance the timeliness of compilation and research results,and focus on planning and dissemination.
