Case Grammar advanced by Charles J. Fillmore contributed a great deal to the development of computational linguistics and information processing techniques, and is still used by many natural language information processing systems. Frame Semantics and FrameNet developed by Charles J. Fillmore is capable of providing much finer grain semantic roles to information processing. The paper will discuss the important aspects in describing semantic frames, demonstrate the strengths of Frame Sementics, and strongly suggest that Frame Semantics approach be adopted instead of Case Grammar approach in information processing techniques.
