Michael E.Porter wrote a book 20 years ago titled Can Japan Compete.In this book,Porter claimed that Japan,a country with first-class management,would stop growing due to lack of innovation.What Porter wrote is what we should be alert about today as well.We were learning Japan’s management and lean production.However,facing the changes of today’s market,we should be attaching more importance to operation.The head of a company is first and foremost an operator with a task to make money.With such a large of amount of state-owned assets,making a profit should be a priority.
