铃木虎雄是日本中国学研究的奠基人,家学渊源流长,学养深厚,著述既丰赡又独创,擅长清代实证考据学。他首次分别对《文心雕龙》最古本、最善本进行了校勘。贵重旧本、"他校法"和对校是他校勘的显著特色,而存真复原、辨讹谬是他校勘的具体内容。其中,对讹误的校订是他突出的成就。他对《文心雕龙》的校勘,务实守真,奠定了日本乃至世界"龙学"研究的基础。

Suzuki Torao is the founder of Japanese studies in China.His family culture has a long history and profound knowledge.His writings are both rich and original,and he is good at empirical evidence in the Qing Dynasty.For the first time,he collated the most ancient and rare books of The Literary Mind and the Carving Dragon separately.The valuable old books,proofreading and collation are the distinctive features of his collation,and the restoration and identification of the truth is the specific content of his collation.Among them,the correction of the fallacy is his outstanding achievement.His collation of The Literary Mind and the Carving Dragon,pragmatic and truth-keeping,laid the foundation for the study of"Dragon Learning"in Japan and the world.
