Clinical Experience of Professor BA Yuan-ming in The Treatment of Urinary Calculus

First,this article summarized the ancient scholars'understanding of the formation of urinary calculus by quoting ancient texts,and pointed out that Professor BA had made innovations in inheriting the academic thoughts of ancient scholars,then put forward that dampness-heat in Lower Jiao,Qi stagnation and blood stasis,deficiency of vital Qi and retention of fluid were the causes and mechanisms of this disease.Professor BA considered that there are three main types of this disease,namely,dampness-heat in Lower Jiao type,Qi stagnation and blood stasis type and deficiency of vital Qi and retention of fluid type,aim at the causes of urinary calculus.The three types of syndromes could not only influence each other,but also could be transformed into each other,meanwhile,they could co-exists with each other.Therefore,he innovatively put forward the following treatment principle:Clearing heat and promoting diuresis and tonifying Qi are equally important,promoting the circulation of Qi and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis at the same time,take count of dissolving and removing urinary calculus and clearing damp and promoting diuresis simultaneously.At the same time,he also suggested using modern medical diagnosis methods to confirme the size and location of urinary calculus,then choosing appropriate therapeutic schedule.Finally,the relevant medical record was cited to fully explain the treatment principles at the end of the article.
