A Review of Researches on English Translations of Mao Zedong’s Poems

毛泽东的诗词创作伴其一生,且随着逐渐发表和英译为各国读者所熟知。毛泽东诗词英译始于20世纪30年代,并一直延续至21世纪初。对毛泽东诗词英译的研究既有对翻译原则和方法的探讨,又有对译作的评论和分析,有着重要的理论意义和实践价值。从译者思想、硕博论文和期刊论文三方面回顾梳理毛泽东诗词英译研究历程,以期总结当前成果,并为未来研究提供参考借鉴。

Mao Zedong writes poems in his whole life,and his poems become well known to readers all over the world after publication and translation.The translation of Mao Zedong’s poems into English starts from the 1930s and lasts to the beginning of 21th century.The study of English translations of Mao Zedong’s poems is of great theoretical and practical significance,for it consists of not only exploration of translation principles and methods,but also comments and analyses of the translated poems.This paper reviews researches on English translations of Mao Zedong’s poems to summarize current achievements in terms of translators’principles,dissertations and journal articles,so as to provide reference for further researches.
