Dewey’s Remarkable Educational Life and His Research Experience:A Chronology of Dewey’s Education Activities

2019年是现代西方教育思想大师、美国教育家杜威诞辰160周年,也是他来华讲学100周年。本文旨在丰富史料的基础上,以年表的形式展示杜威从农村走向大都市、从哲学走向教育、从教育实践走向教育理论、从美国走向世界的卓越的教育人生和治学之路,以凸显其批判的学术精神和杰出的学术成就。

The year of 2019 is the 160th anniversary of the birth of Dewey,a master of contemporary Western educational thoughts and a famous American educator.It is also the 100th anniversary of his lecture in China.On the basis of enriching historical materials,this paper presents Dewey’s remarkable educational life and research experience from rural to metropolis,from philosophy to education,from educational practice to educational theory and from the United States to the world in the form of chronology,so as to highlight his critical academic spirit and outstanding academic achievements.
