From separation to unification: the writing of the history of Chinese literature in Japan——The significance and deficiency of the history of Chinese novels and operas by Kano Naoki

日本汉文学史的书写自明治维新以来层出不穷,对其发展状况进行梳理很有必要。重点对狩野直喜及其俗文学研究在其间承上启下的重要作用进行评价,并对其《中国小说戏曲史》一书的内容进行简要讨论。

The writing of the history of Chinese literature in Japan has emerged one after another since the Meiji Restoration, so it is necessary to sort out its development. This paper focuses on the evaluation of the important role of Kano Naoki and his research on popular literature in connecting the preceding and the following researches, and makes a brief discussion on the content of his book, the history of Chinese novels and operas.
