Fundamental Interests of the People Are the Highest Standard of Evaluating Practice

检验认识与评价实践,是人类统一的认识过程的两个必要的环节。1978年的真理标准大讨论,很好地解决了检验认识的标准问题,但对评价实践的标准问题却没有充分展开讨论。经过40多年的改革开放,中国特色社会主义已经进入新时代,以人民的根本利益引领和评价实践是新时代以人民为中心的发展思想的重要体现。在新时代,必须坚定不移地把“全心全意为人民服务”、把“以人民为中心”作为贯穿始终的执政理念,作为评价执政实践的最高标准,要更加自觉地弘扬“以人民为中心”的执政理念,更加自觉地用最广大人民根本利益来约束和评价自己的执政实践。只有这个问题解决好了,才能从根本上把握好改革开放的方向,才能从根本上实现好、维护好最广大人民的根本利益。

Examining knowledge and evaluating practice are two necessary links in the process of human s cognition.The debate on truth standard in 1978 solved well the problem of the standard of examining knowledge,but didn t discuss fully the problem of the standard of evaluating practice.After more than 40 years of reform and opening up,socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,and to guide and evaluate practice with the people s fundamental interests is the important manifestation of people-centred developing thought in the new era.In the new era,we must take“serving the people wholeheartedly”and“centering people”as the governing idea all the time unswervingly,as the highest standard of evaluating the governing practice,carry forward the“people-centred governing idea”more consciously,discipline and evaluate as well the governing practice with the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people more consciously.Only solving this problem perfectly,can we grasp the direction of reform and opening up at root,and realize and ensure the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people fundamentally.
