Interpretation of Chinese and Western architectural differences from the perspective of “Xing” and “Zhi”

为深入探析中西建筑差异性渊源,以"行"与"止"为切入点从哲学角度对中西建筑进行研究,对思想溯源、建筑材料、建造造型及空间秩序几方面进行了论述,得出不同的哲学观念是导致建筑形式差异的重要因素的结论。

In order to deeply explore the origin of architectural differences between China and the West,taking"Xing"and"Zhi"as the breakthrough point,this paper studies Chinese and Western architecture from a philosophical point of view. The origin of ideas,building materials,construction models and space order are discussed,it is concluded that different philosophical concepts are the important factors leading to the differences in architectural forms.
