从《文学评论之原理》的译介实践看现代中国文学理论的知识建构——兼论梅光迪的文论贡献

Knowledge Construction of Modern Chinese Literature Theory from Translation and Introduction of The Principles of Literary Criticism:On Mei Guangdi’s Contribution to Literary Theory

将英国学者温彻斯特《文学评论之原理》一书完整介绍到中国来的是梅光迪,他也是正式将这部著作内容引入中国现代高校文学教育的第一人,最初此书的主要内容作为梅光迪在南高师暑期学校里教授课程的讲义,后在其支持下由学生译出全文。汉译本《文学评论之原理》不仅保留了原著中20世纪前后西方文论建设的诸多成果,而且在具体译介过程中也根据实际情况进行了大量的例子置换。此书在译介、传播过程中形成的这种特殊的文化现象应引起学界更为深入的关注,因为这不仅是考察梅光迪文论贡献与文化价值的重要角度,同时也是理解当时中国文论教材建设主要特点及文论知识建构的一个很好的切入点。

it is Mei Guangdi who introduced Winchester’s The Principle of Literary Criticism to China. He is also the first person who formally introduced this book into the literary education of modern Chinese universities. The main content of the book was originally used as a handout for Mei Guangdi to teach courses in the summer school of South Normal University,and then translated by his students. The Principle of Literary Criticism embodies not only embodies many achievements of western literary theory construction around the 20 th century,but also the main cultural phenomenon formed in the process of translation,introduction and communication which well presents the main characteristics of Chinese literary theory textbook construction and the general situation of literary theory knowledge construction at that time. Therefore,the study of the translation and dissemination of The Principle of Literary Criticism will be a good starting point for the construction of Chinese literary theory in the 1920 s.
