摘要
以应试为目的的通用英语(English for Genaral Purposes,EGP)教学已经越来越难以满足国家对于培养医学复合型人才的要求,而旨在培养医学生学术科研能力和学术交流能力的专门用途英语(English for Specific Purposes,ESP)可以弥补其不足。构建EGP+ESP教学模式是顺应国家经济、社会发展的战略需要,是满足学生专业学习的需要,也是符合英语学科自身发展的需要。本研究在剖析医学院校ESP教学现状,分析其不足的基础上,从课程设置、教材选编、师资培养、考核评价、学校扶持等方面探讨EGP+ESP英语课程教学模式的构建。
EGP(English for Genaral Purposes),focusing on exam-oriented education,is becoming more and more difficult to meet the demand of cultivating inter-disciplinary talents of clinical medicine and English.Whereas,ESP(English for Specific Purposes),focusing on promoting medical students’ academic research abilities and academic exchange abilities can make up for the deficiency of EGP.Establishing EGP+ESP teaching mode not only complies with the strategic demands of national economy and social development,the students’ learning needs of professional knowledge,but also meets the requirements of English development.The paper explores the construction of EGP+ESP teaching mode from the perspectives of curriculum establishment,textbook compilation,teaching staff cultivation,exam and assessment as well as school support on the basis of analysis of present teaching situation of ESP in medical colleges.
