文化社区与海外华裔新生代身份认同——以美国南康州地区为个案的考察

摘要 语言是各族群文化的主要载体,华文教育一直是构建海外华人文化社区的主要路径。作为美国南康州地区规模最大和最具影响力的中文教学机构,南康中文学校的教学实践与课外活动已同中华文化传承紧密联系在一起。南康中文学校不仅是为华裔新生代提供中文教育的培训机构,还在构建当地华人文化社区过程中起着枢纽作用。中文学校在成为华裔青少年族裔认同最佳场所的同时,也成为当地华人文化社区构建的中心,在增进族裔身份认同的同时,也有利于华人群体彰显社会存在及进行政治参与。 Language is the main carrier of cultures of all ethnic groups.Chinese education has always been the main way to build overseas Chinese cultural communities.As the largest and most influential Chinese teaching institution in Southern Connecticut,the teaching practice and extracurricular activities of Southern Connecticut Chinese School have been closely linked with the inheritance of Chinese culture.Southern Connecticut Chinese School is not only a training institution to provide Chinese education for the new generation of Chinese Americans,but also plays a pivotal role in the process of building the local Chinese cultural community.While becoming the best place for ethnic identity of Chinese youth,Chinese schools have also become the center of the construction of local Chinese cultural communities.While promoting ethnic identity,Chinese schools are also conducive to highlighting social existence and political participation.
