Get A Life is a novel typical of white South African novelist Nadine Gordimer’s later works.The novel portrays the changes and struggles of two white middle-class families in the times of globalization, which symbolizes the crisis of both human beings and ecological environment in post-modern society.This paper illustrates from aspects of ecology, psychology and ethics the crisis and predicament of human beings.By analyzing how they find their way out of the crisis we can conclude that man and nature and human beings as a whole are in a closely integrated community of common destiny, which embodies Gordimer’s ultimate concern for the common destiny of mankind and her hope to build a new South African homeland.
