With speed control as the guide,a kind of control method which can realize the cruise function of ships at constant speed is discussed.The pitch and speed are automatically matched by the adaptive function of this control method,so as to achieve the purpose of the lowest fuel consumption at any designated speed.It can not only ensure the scheduled arrival time of the ship and reduce the workload of the crew member,but also effectively control the cost,save energy and reduce emissions.
