The Palace Economy Boosted by Ritual Jade Luxury: Jade Culture of Prehistoric Central Plains and Chinese Civilization

文章从史前宗教奢侈品发生视角,聚焦五千年前中原地区玄玉资源积累所拉动的王宫经济发展脉络,从仰韶文化到龙山文化和二里头王宫,一千多年间如何从单一品种蛇纹石玉资源引出多品种透闪石玉以及早期金属礼器,形成白玉崇拜和金玉辉映格局,从物质和精神两方面催生华夏文明。

From the perspective of prehistoric religious luxuries, this article focuses firstly on the economic development of the palace, which is driven by the accumulation of xuanyu(black jade) resources in the Central Plains 5,000 years ago, and on how the pattern of white jade worship and the combination of gold and jade, which promoted the Chinese civilization from both material and spiritual aspects, was formed from a single species of serpentine resources that lead to a variety of tremolite jade and early metal rituals during more than a thousand years from Yangshao Culture to Longshan Culture and Erlitou Palace.
