Macao SAR’s Economic Development and Mainland Migrant Workers

澳门的人口增长缓慢和人口结构日趋老化,使其在劳动力供给方面出现短缺,需要引入外来劳动力以满足经济发展的需要。作为外来劳动力的主体部分,内地劳动者在澳门回归以来充分发挥了“劳动力蓄水池”的作用,有效扩大了澳门的劳动力供给总量,优化了澳门的劳动力结构,促进了澳门劳动力市场的均衡和经济的快速发展。在建设粤港澳大湾区的背景下,澳门关于内地劳动者的政策安排,需要进行完善和提升,以进一步促进澳门与内地的劳动力要素流动和优化配置,提升澳门乃至粤港澳大湾区的全球竞争力。

The aging population in Macao has caused the shortage in labor supply.The inflow of migrant workers is regarded as an important solution to tackle this shortage.As the majority of migrant workers in Macao,mainland migrant workers effectively constitute a“labor pool”and promote the equilibrium of labor market and economic development in Macao by increasing labor supply and bettering labor force structure.In the context of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area initiative,Macao needs to better its policy regarding mainland migrant workers,so as to further stimulate the flow of labor and improve the global competitiveness of Macao and the Greater Bay Area.
