Review on the Theories for Technoself Studies(TSS)

“技术自我”这一概念由学者罗奇·卢皮基尼提出,并形成了一个有关“技术自我”的研究领域。其关注的核心问题是人类和技术二者之间日益密切、甚至边界日益模糊的关系对人类如何理解自身所产生的重要影响,亦即关注在技术的语境下,人与技术二者之间的关系的变化对自我和身份认同等相关理论产生的影响。文章的目的在于梳理这一领域的发展历程、重要理论资源以及当前阶段存在的问题,并通过挖掘身份认同理论中诉诸记忆的说明以及贝尔纳·斯蒂格勒技术哲学中有关记忆的理论,表明记忆理论对“技术自我”的研究具有重要意义,是这一研究领域未来的重要发展方向和趋势,对其进一步的考察将会有助于“技术自我”的相关讨论。

The concept of“technoself”was proposed by the scholar Rocci Luppicini,and has gradually formed a research field of“technoself”.The main concern of the research field is how the increasingly close and blurred relationship between human and technology has an important impact on human understanding of themselves.That is to say,in the context of technology,how the changes in the relationship between human and technology have an impact on the relevant theories such as“self”and“personal identity”.The purpose of this paper is to review the development history of the research field,examine its important theoretical resources and provide an overview of its current focuses.By exploring the memory theory which the theory of personal identity has resorted to,and the memory theory in the philosophy of technology of Bernard Stiegler,the paper shows that memory theory has a positive effect on the study of“technoself”,which could be an important direction in this research field.The paper suggests that a further investigation of memory theory will be helpful to the discussion of“technoself”.
