摘要
转发规则的查询速度直接影响网络设备的转发性能。利用网络流量的时间局部性,大量研究提出了基于流缓存的报文转发方案,可显著降低硬件成本,并提高软件转发效率。随着网络软件化的兴起,流缓存已成为近年来的研究热点。该文从缓存生成、规则更新、缓存替换等方面介绍了应用于IP路由规则、掩码匹配规则和匹配动作表的流缓存方法,并概述了流缓存在未来转发设备发展中需要解决的问题。
The query speed of the forwarding rules directly affects the forwarding performance of the network device. Taking advantage of the temporal locality of network traffic, many studies have proposed a packet forwarding scheme based on flow caching. Flow caching can significantly reduce hardware costs and improve software forwarding efficiency. With the rise of network softwarization, flow caching has become a research hotspot in recent years. This paper introduces the flow caching method applied to IP routing rules, mask matching rules and match action tables from the aspects of cache generation, rule update, cache replacement, etc. and summarizes the problems that flow caching needs to solve in the future development of forwarding devices.
