The report, Global Terrorism Index, published by the Institute for Economics and Peace consecutively, an international think-tank based in Australia, reflects its key goal of studying trends in terrorism. While at the same time, it also provides a platform for further speculation. The report, Global Terrorism Index 2017, continues to describe in a global perspective the main characteristics and trends of terrorism, including the number and number of countries affected by terrorist attacks, the relationship between terrorist attacks and the political situation of countries, the impact of terrorist attacks on the global economy, the impact of information technology and new technology application on the economic strength of terrorist organizations, and the characteristics of terrorist network communication.
