Achievements, Experience and Lessons of Vietnam’s Reform in the Past Thirty Years

在越南共产党领导下,1986年12月召开的越共六大开启了越南革新进程,至今已经走过30多年。在过去的30多年里,越南在建设社会主义和捍卫社会主义祖国的道路上取得了巨大的历史性成就。与此同时,为使国家快速、可持续发展,还有许多重大而复杂的问题需要解决,有诸多不足和弱点需要克服。总结30多年来革新的成就和不足,经验教训主要有:必须坚持独立自主和社会主义的目标,坚持创造性地运用和发展马克思列宁主义;必须始终贯彻"以民为本"的观点;尊重客观规律;妥善处理好独立自主与积极主动融入国际之间的关系;加强党的建设和整顿党,提高党的领导能力和战斗力,等等。

Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 6th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam held in December 1986 initiated the reform in Vietnam, which has lasted for more than 30 years. In thepast 30 years, Vietnam has made great historic achievements in building socialism and defending the socialist motherland. At the same time, to ensure therapid and sustainable development of the country, the CPV is facing many major and complex problems to be solved and many shortcomings and weaknessesto be overcome. In view of the achievements and problems of the reform over the past 30 years, the main experience and lessons are: we must adhere to thegoal of independence and socialism, and adhere to the creative application and development of Marxism and Leninism;we must always implement the view of"people first", respect the objective laws, and properly handle the relationship between independence and active integration into the international community;we should also strengthen the party construction and rectify the party to improve its leadership and effectiveness, etc.
