This experiment was to study the effect of coated acidifier on growth performance and intestinal development of broilers.According to the recommended dosage in production, 450 1-day-age male Arbor Acres broilers were selected and separated into the control group(basal diet), the antibiotics group(adding 80 mg/kg colistin and 400 mg/kg zinc bacitracin), 0.05% acidifier group(adding 0.05% coated acidifier), 0.08% acidifier group(adding 0.08% coated acidifier)and 0.10% acidifier group(adding 0.10% coated acidifier), which included 6 replicates with 15 birds per pen. The experiment lasted for 42 d. The results showed that compared with the control group, 0.05%, 0.08%, 0.10% coated acidifier increased the body weight(BW) by 4.13%, 3.54% and 6.05% respectively(P<0.05), and 4.30%, 3.62%, 6.58%(P<0.05) at 1 to 21 days of age in average daily gain(ADG) significantly, while decreased the feed conversion rate(FCR) at 3.57%,1.43% and 3.57% respectively(P<0.05). And also it was found that 0.08%, 0.10% coated acidifier increased the relative weight of ileum at 32.78% and 18.53%(P<0.05). The results indicated that coated acidifier could improve the growth performance of broiler chickens, but not increase the length and weight of intestine.
