再议英语双宾语构式的多义性

A Study on the Polysemy of English Ditransitive Construction

结合COCA语料库对英语双宾语构式进行了研究,并基于概念隐喻理论对双宾动词进行了重新分类,扩展为九大类,辖双宾动词十五种。运用概念隐喻对新增加的两类构式义、三种双宾动词进行了分析,指出这类动词在双宾结构中的应用是隐喻以及动词和构式相互压制的结果。动词对构式的压制,使构式义产生了一定程度的偏离,尤其是多义动词的影响,使得同一动词进入双宾构式后会产生不同的构式义。

With the COCA corpus,a study was made in this paper on English ditransitive construction and reclassifies ditransitive verbs based on Conceptual Metaphor Theory.The meaning of ditransitive construction is extended into nine categories,covering 15 kinds of ditransitive verbs.By means of Conceptual Metaphor Theory,an analysis was made in this paper of the two newly added constructional meanings and the three kinds of ditransitive verbs,pointing out that their application in ditransitive construction is the result of conceptual metaphor and the mutual coercion between verbs and the construction.The coercion effect of the verb on the construction makes the meaning of construction deviate to a certain extent.In particular,the influence of polysemous verbs makes the same verb produce different constructional meanings after entering the ditransitive construction.
