A Discussion on the Cudgel Play among Folks in Gansu

本文采用文献资料和逻辑分析等方法,以甘肃民间棍术为研究对象,阐释了"西棍"的外在表现形式。研究认为:区域环境为西棍的形成创造了条件,民间武术丰富了西棍的表现形式,封闭、保守的思想使西棍保留了原生态的技击特点,现代体育思潮加速了西棍的续变。

Through literature review and logical analysis, taking the cudgel play among folks in Gansu as its research object, this paper expounds the external manifestation of western cudgel. It is concluded that, regional environment has created the conditions for the formation of western stick. Folk wushu(martial arts) enriches its form of expression. The closed and conservative thought makes it retain the characteristics of the original ecological skills, and modern sports trend of thought accelerates its continuous change.
