“Chinese Characteristics”:A Defining Feature of World-class University in China

扎根"本土"是建成世界"一流大学"的应然路径,它是由高等教育发展的历史逻辑、实践逻辑和文化逻辑决定的。从发展历史来看,中国大学有着显而易见的"混血基因",但是,"一流大学"不能是异域文化的复制品,大学发展应该符合其自身规律和内在逻辑,大学应该成为内涵丰富的"文本",而不应只是人们口口相传的"话题"。中国大学应该坚持党的领导,滋润于中国文化,按照"分类发展"的战略思路,扎根于中国大地推进发展。

It is essential for China to persist with"Chinese characteristics"in order to build"worldclass universities",which is determined by the historical logic,practical logic and cultural logic of the development of higher education.From the history perspective,Chinese universities have obvious"hybrid genes".However,China’s"world-class universities"cannot be a replica of foreign culture.The development of university should conform to its own laws and internal logic.Instead of being some"topics"passed down orally,our universities should become"texts"with rich connotations.Chinese universities must adhere to the leadership of the CPC,absorb nourishments from Chinese culture and take root in China to promote development in accordance with the strategic thinking of"classified development".
