烙画又称火笔画,用火烧热烙铁在物体上熨出烙痕作画,中国传统艺术珍品。史料记载,烙画源于西汉、盛于东汉,后曾一度失传。清光绪三年,河南南阳一名叫"赵星"的民间艺人重新发现整理,辗转形成以河南、河北等为代表地的几大派系。烙画创作在把握火候、力度的同时,注重"意在笔先、落笔成形"。烙画不仅有中国画的勾、勒、点、染、擦、白描等手法,还可以烫出丰富的层次与色调.

The pyrograph,also called fire pen painting,painted with an iron with bum marks resulting from the controlled application of a heated object.It is a traditional Chinese artistic treasure.According to the record of historical materials,the pyrograph originated from the Western Han Dynasty and prospered in the Eastern Han Dynasty.Later it was lost for some time.In the third year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty,a folk artist named Zhao Xing in Nanyang,Henan,rediscovered it and organized it,gradually shaping it into schools represented by Henan,Hebei and other places.
