Jennie Flexner was a representative teaders’adviser of public libraries in the United States from 1930 s to 1940 s.She was an innovator in the use of public libraries for adult education,and focused on readers’systematic reading of specific subjects.Flexner emphasized the significance of the unique interests in each individual and opposed templated reading.She trained readers’ability of selecting books,and paid attention to empirical research on the readers’advisory service objects and effect.It has reference significance for readers’advisory service in nowadays.
