As a reference book for learning languages, dictionaries are necessary for learners in any country at any time.In Japanese Kamakura and Muromachi periods, typography was not yet popular, and many kinds of books were mainly copied. For the“treasures”of some Chinese classics, missing and damage would result in great losses. Therefore, quite a few literati had developed a habit of making simple“recording”in case of losses when they borrowed Chinese classics.Nowadays, these“records”have become the first hand historical materials to understand the spreading path of overseas Chinese classics, and also have provided a new academic perspective for the study of overseas sinology.
