摘要
Domestication and foreignization are two frequently used translation strategies.However,for the majority of transla?tors,the choice between them is still a problem till now.On the one hand,it’s a good opportunity for target readers to learn more about foreign culture with the help of foreignization.On the other hand,domestication method can also contribute to the efficient transmission of culture.If translators pursue foreignization blindly,it will only lead to counterproductive result.There?fore,in order to explore the vale of domestication method when translating,two major Chinese translations of Catch 22 are cho?sen to make a comparative analysis from the lexical,phrasal,sentential level.The result shows that the adoption of domestication method in translation is still of great significance.
