美国汉学界极为关注苏轼诗歌中的“自我”问题,侧重探究苏轼贬放期间的内在冲突与调和。艾朗诺(Ronald C.Egan)将苏诗视为苏轼的“心中之镜”,分析苏轼的生命态度与价值理想;唐凯琳(Kathleen M.Tomlonovic)通过分析和陶诗揭橥苏轼如何形塑其“回归”理念;杨立宇(Vincent Yang)将苏轼与华兹华斯的山水书写对比而论,解剖苏轼为官与隐居的冲突;杨治宜(Yang Zhiyi)则提出苏轼和陶是一种自我认同与自我说服,表明苏轼对个人生命价值、独立自由的渴求。
American scholars in sinology greatly focus on the“self”in Su Shi's poetry especially on his internal conflict and reconciliation during demotion.Ronald C.Egan takes Su Shi’s poetry as“mirror in the mind”and focuses on analyzing his life attitude and value ideal.Kathleen M.Tomlonovic reveals how Su Shi expresses“returning”motive by poems responding to Tao Qian.Vincent Yang compares Su Shi’s poetry of landscape with William Wordsworth’s and presents the contradiction between“official”and“recluse”.Yang Zhiyi thinks that Su Shi's poems responding to Tao Qian are the reflection of self-identification and self-persuasion and reveal his longing for life value,independence,and freedom.
