Objective To explore the expressions of matrix mrtalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)and Metadherin(MTDH)in breast cancer, and analyze their clinicpathological features in breast cancer. Methods The immunohistochemistry Elivision method was used to detect the expression of MMP-9 and MTDH in 139 cases of breast cancer tissues,64 cases of adjacent normal tissues.Age,tumor size, lymph node metastasis,TNM stage, histological grade were analyzed for their correlation with expression of MMP-9 and MTDH.Results The positive expression rate of MMP-9 was 84.9%in breast cancer tissues, higher than 28.2%of adjacent normal breast tissues. The positive expression rate of MTDH was 76.9%in breast cancer tissues, higher than 34.4%of adjacent normal breast tissues(P<0.05).The expression rate of MMP-9 and MTDH were related with tumor size, lymph node metastasis,TNM stage, histological grade, but unrelated with age.The MMP-9 expression was positively correlated with MTDH(r=0.441,P<0.05).Conclusion There is high expression of MMP-9 and MTDH in breast cancer.MMP-9 is positively related with MTDH.Both are related with tumor size, lymph node metastasis,TNM stage, histological grade. It is suggested that both have important significance in the development, infiltration and metastasis of breast cancer.
