The proses in Wu Jianrong’s Living Elsewhere enable us to examine our inner world despite the hustle and rush of life.The book is written cordially and touchingly.We encounter with the author while meet ourselves in reading it.In the prose,there are not only the plain yet profound narrative showing the ordinary people’s emotional world,but also the informal essays and understandings about life shining the aura of wisdom.The integration of the emotion and wisdom in the prose appeals to both the emotional and the intellectual part of me.Wu Jianrong grasps the fragments that appear to be simple but truly touching in daily life,including a few sketches of words and the simple and natural depictions.There is a distinctive middle-aged temperament in her prose.For narrative prose,more warmth and reflections are put into the writing of the past events;in the reading essays,the writer’s understanding on reading shows her knowledge and unique insights.Based on the real life while rest our souls and fixing our hope elsewhere,the writer’s philosophy penetrates throughout the book,and provides us with a reference and model that is practical and aligning with human nature.
