摘要
Bickerton认为,人类语言的发展不是缓慢平稳进化的,而是经历了原始语言阶段和句法语言阶段。Bickerton语言观中关于语言起源、语言本质、语言和意识的关系三个方面具有西方哲学的理性主义或存在主义特征。Bickerton的理论在语言认知观和研究方法上存在一些明显的缺陷和局限性。
This paper expounds Bickerton’s two-stage account of language evolution.Then it attempts to explore the philosophical characteristics of his view on language from the perspectives of rationalism and existentialism in the western philosophy as well as the existing merits and defects in terms of his theoretical foundation,expecting to form a more comprehensive understanding of the philosophical issues revolving around language evolution and human essence and to provide some references for further researches concerning language evolution.
