摘要
研究西方媒体如何呈现中国女性,再现了怎样的中国女性形象十分必要。运用费尔克劳夫的三维分析模式,对《华盛顿邮报》关于中国女性的报道从篇章、话语实践和社会文化实践三个层面进行批评话语分析。研究发现:该报运用话语策略对有关中国女性的事实或信息进行主观选择,植入其国家意识形态和性别意识陈规。报道中总是把党和政府作为攻击对象,呈现出该报中国女性报道中无处不在的美国意识形态。同时,该报把中国女性描述为私人领域的主角、定型的社会性别角色,男权文化的受虐者以及失去自由的受害者,暴露出明显的性别意识陈规。
It is essential to study how the Western media present Chinese women and what images they reproduce.With Fairclough’s three-dimensional analysis model,The Washington Post’s reports on Chinese women are explored from three levels of critical discourse analysis:text,discourse practice and socio-cultural practice.The research found that The Washington Post,by means of discourse strategy,makes subjective choices among the facts or information about Chinese women,and implant American ideology and gender ideology in its presentation of the image of Chinese women.American ideology is ubiquitously permeated into the newspaper’s coverage of the Chinese women,with the Party and the government as the target for attacks.Moreover,the image of Chinese women covered by this newspaper can be summarized as follows:the protagonist of the private sphere,the stereotypical gender role,the prey to patriarchy and the victim without freedom,reflecting the evident gender stereotype in the newspaper’s coverage of Chinese women.
