Concepts of Love in Nanshe Acracholia SU Manshu’s Fiction

苏曼殊小说方面的成就主要体现在小说的创作上,在其翻译小说《惨世界》中亦有体现。在创作的六部小说中,除未完稿《天涯红泪记》外,其他五部小说对爱情均有很好的思考。通过解读这五部小说能够寻绎身处传统、现代之间,西学东渐之际的苏曼殊对爱情具体、深刻、相对全面的思考,这是其对近代小说的贡献。其小说颇具历史文化意义,值得深入探讨。

SU Manshu’s literary achievements are mainly embodied in his novel writing,together with his translation The Tragic World.With the sixth novel The End of the World being a torso,all the rest five novels embody his pondering on love affairs.His specific,profound and relatively comprehensive reflections on love,can be well disclosed through a detailed reading of these novels,as they were composed in the times mingling tradition and modernity,and eastward spreading of west learning.This is also his contribution to modern novel writing.SU Manshu’s novels have a rich historical and cultural significance,and deserve an in-depth discussion.
