无产阶级用代表自身根本利益的马克思主义理论武装自身,实现自身思想理论从自发到自觉的转变,这是无产阶级理论武装的本质。列宁认为,开展马克思主义理论武装是无产阶级形成自我阶级意识、保卫革命胜利果实和培养共产主义新一代接班人的迫切需要,必须坚持理论灌输的基本原则、课程教学的基本途径和理论联系实际的基本方法。高校用习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想铸魂育人,必须牢牢抓住思想政治理论课这一主阵地,创新马克思主义理论武装的途径、载体和方法,充分发挥社会实践活动的积极作用,促进马克思主义理论武装内容与形式的深度融合。
