湖北宜城楚皇城城址北城墙2017年度发掘简报

Preliminary Excavation Report of 2017 Excavation of North City Wall at the Chuhuangcheng Site in Yicheng, Hubei

2017年3~7月,湖北省文物考古研究所等单位对宜城楚皇城城址北城墙进行了考古发掘,经解剖发现城墙四层夯土、护城河及城墙夯土下的若干遗迹。通过此次发掘,可以判断楚皇城城墙始建年代上限不早于战国早期,下限可能一直延续到汉代。

From March to July 2017,we conducted archaeological excavations of the north city wall of Chuhuangcheng Site.Dissection shows four layers of pressed earth,a moat and various remains below the pressed earth.From these findings we can determine that the date of the site can be no earlier than the early Warring States period,but may be as late as the Han dynasty.
