Plant immunity and sustainable control of pests in China: Advances,opportunities and challenges

摘要 植物免疫学是研究植物与病原生物互作的学科.同动物一样,植物也具有强大的先天免疫系统,其本质是通过对病毒、细菌、真菌、卵菌、线虫、昆虫、寄生植物等病原生物的识别激活防卫反应,拒阻病原生物的侵害;而病原生物则能够逃避或抑制宿主植物的识别和防卫反应,在植物上引起病虫害.20年来,我国植物免疫研究取得巨大进步,与国际同行相比,在多个研究方向实现了并跑,在少数方向实现了领跑,为农作物病虫害绿色防控提供了理论支撑和新的技术手段. Plant immunology studies interactions between plants and pathogenic organisms.Like animals,plants possess a powerful innate immune system,which recognizes pathogenic organisms including viruses,bacteria,fungi,oomycetes,nematodes,insects and parasitic weeds to mount a series of defenses to fend off invading pathogens.Pathogens can evade or overcome host immune systems to cause diseases and damage on host plants.Over the last two decades,China has made great strides in plant immunity research and contributed significantly to multiple areas of studies.These advances shed new light on the development of effective technologies for sustainable control of pests in agriculture.
