A critical review of embodiment and discourse perspectives in contemporary metaphor studies

近年来,隐喻研究领域形成了"体验派"与"话语派"两大对立阵营。这两派在隐喻观、研究对象、研究框架、研究方法等重要方面存在严重分歧,双方各执己见,互不妥协。文章首先概述"体验派"与"话语派"的形成与发展,然后综述两派存在的主要分歧,最后结合双方对于隐喻普遍性、隐喻悖论和隐喻之战的看法评析两派论战的学术价值。

Recent years has witnessed heated debates between embodiment and discourse perspectives in metaphor studies,with sharp differences in their perspectives,frameworks,subjects and methodologies.Taking all these into account,the paper sketches out the evolution of the two schools,highlighting the major discrepancies,with an aim to reveal the values of the two sides in terms of universality,paradox and war of metaphor.
