“意在寻僧不在花”——元稹与佛教关系谫论

Study on the Relation between YUAN Zhen and Buddhism

中唐时期,禅宗作为佛教发展过程中的重要宗派,有了更多为中国士大夫阶层接受的可能。元稹作为宏大时代下的生命个体,一生与佛教有着密切的联系。不论是其家庭境况,还是在宦海浮沉中的独特生命体验,都促使其与佛教发生关联。在这样的情形下,元稹诗中表现出以参赏佛寺、交游佛僧以及援引佛理入诗等为代表的佛教书写情况。

In the mid-Tang Dynasty,Buddhism represented by Zen was more likely to be accepted by the literati and officialdom in feudal China.YUAN Zhen,as an individual entity under the background of such a grand era,was associated with Buddhism closely throughout his life.His association with Buddhism was promoted not only by the conditions of his family,but also by the unique life experience in the ups and downs of his official life.Under these circumstances,YUAN Zhen’s poems show the Buddhist writings represented by visiting Buddhist temples,keeping Buddhist monks as the company and quoting the Buddhist theory into poetry.
