A Study on Sajjad Zaher’s Literary Works

萨加德·查希尔作为印度进步文学运动的发起人和组织者,为推动文学的发展和社会的进步奔走呼号。他主编和以他为主创作的短篇小说集《火星集》成为进步文学运动的前奏曲;中篇小说《伦敦一夜》在短暂的时间和窄小的空间内表现重大的社会问题;传记作品《墨迹》以写实的方法勾画出同时代进步作家的真实形象;诗集《熔炼的蓝宝石》试图创造一种新颖、独特和优美的诗体;文论《萨加德·查希尔论文学》阐释印度进步文学运动确立的现代文学发展方向。

Sajjad Zaher,the initiator and organizer of Indian progressive literature movement,did whatever he could to promote both Indian literary and social development.Short stories named Angaray,edited and mainly composed by him,served as the prelude for such literature movement.His novelette London Ki Ek Raat with a story happened in a brief time and a narrow space displayed significant social problems in India.His biography Roshnayi in a realistic way described the real images of those progressive writers of his time.In his poetry anthology Pighla Nilam,he attempted to create a new,unique and elegant style.The collection of his literary essays Mazameen-e-Sajjad Zaher expounded the developmental orientation of modern literature established by Indian progressive literature movement.
