基于语料库的《边城》译者风格分析

On Style of Translators——A Corpus-based Study on “Border Town”

本文运用语料库方法从语言特征和翻译策略层面,对比《边城》戴乃迭和金介甫译本的翻译风格。研究表明:戴译本用词难度和丰富程度比金译本高;金译本的平均句长比戴译本高;戴译本多用一般现在时,金译本多用一般过去时;戴译本倾向采用归化翻译策略,金译本倾向采用异化翻译策略。

This paper compares the styles of Gladys Yang and Jeffery C. Kinkley, two translators of "Border Town", from the perspective of language features and translation strategies. The research shows that the complexity and richness of the words used in Gladys Yang’s translation are higher than that of Jeffery C. Kinkley’s translation;the average sentence length of Jeffery C. Kinkley’s translation is longer than that of Gladys Yang’s translation;Gladys Yang tends to apply more present tense and domestication translation strategy whereas Jeffery C. Kinkley adopts more past tense and foreignization translation strategy.
