On the basis of statistics of the interactions of twin tropical cyclones(TCs)for the northwest-ern Pacific, this paper studies the effect of interactions between two large-scale cyclonic vortexes on the paths of TCs,their precipitation intensity and area. The result is shown as follows.①The phenomenon of twin TCs interactions concentrates in July-October,which is consistent with the time of high TCs genesis.②The inter-actions are mainly affected by the structure and intensity of twin TCs,the distance between their centers and geographical locations and environmental fields.③The interactions usually cause the TCs to have abnormal paths, strengthen one TC while weakening the other, and result in precipitation far away from them.
