"River Town",together with"Oracle Bones"and"Country Driving"are"Chinese Documentary Triology"written by Peter Hessler,a famous American writer.He recorded what he saw in China by his three non-fiction works which reflected the reform and fast development of China.This paper makes initial discussions on the unique technique of narration about his dual roles as an observer and a participant,the common people as the main character and the multiple cues in the works.
